Certificate of Completion
Each registered attendee will receive a “Certificate of Completion,” confirming their successful completion of a specific “for-credit” masterclass. This certificate marks a significant step in their personal or professional development and demonstrates their commitment to completing the session. The signed, stamped, and attested “Certificates of Completion,” each with a unique registered reference code, will be sent digitally to each participant within 10 to 14 days of receiving the list of confirmed attendees from you. For each masterclass attended and completed, the recipient will earn 3 credit points on a 90-point scale. These points count toward a full professional membership with CIAAD/UNSDGs and are recognized in the 193 member countries of the United Nations.
Introduction
In this masterclass, we will explore the significant impact of AI on various design disciplines, ranging from education to practical architecture.
Our goal is to address the following question: How can AI serve as both a creative partner and a transformative tool, connecting the gap between learning and real-world applications?
Abstract
As the digital age unfolds, the fields of architecture and design are experiencing significant transformations, largely due to the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This course examines the intersections of design, technology, and education, focusing on AI’s evolving role in shaping responsive, adaptive, and sustainable spaces, while also enhancing creativity and collaboration in design learning.
We will explore how AI algorithms, particularly generative AI, are revolutionizing traditional architectural practices by providing tailored solutions for various environmental contexts. Additionally, we will discuss how these advancements can enrich design education.
By drawing on real-world applications and historical design movements, this course will highlight AI’s potential not just as a tool, but as a collaborative force that combines human creativity with algorithmic intelligence. We will evaluate AI’s ability to foster technical, ethical, and scientific knowledge frameworks, informed by modern hermeneutics and Heidegger’s idea that technology serves as a ‘way of revealing’ human conditions.
Participants will compare outcomes from student projects and their reflections on AI-assisted tools, revealing both the challenges and opportunities of integrating these technologies into educational settings. While the positive impact of AI tools on ethical and practical knowledge acquisition is still uncertain, evidence indicates that AI enhances technical knowledge and encourages students to explore diverse creative possibilities.
Attendees will gain insights into the current and future challenges, opportunities, and collaborative potential at the intersection of AI, architecture, and design education. This will foster an environment for inquiry and dialogue that anticipates and addresses human needs.
